2014-2018 Paintings

Through the idiom of painting, I draw out the tension between seeing and knowing. I want to expand the visualization of "female" and rearrange its traditional indicators in an attempt to understand my relationship to the greater narrative of gender constructs. This expanded visualization has directed me to questions about perceived gender expression and how femaleness is depicted in figurative art.
